Adam | Chippewa Falls Senior Session

Chippewa Falls senior portraits andrew samplawski photography

I always enjoy it when my senior session are willing to put themselves out there and get adventurous with their senior pictures, and that was certainly the case with Adam, a high school senior at nearby Stanley Boyd High School.

Adam was more than willing to explore some new locations with me in the Chippewa Falls area, which meant that we were able to get a good variety of looks for his pictures. We got some great shots in a back alley and with the urban feeling of the city while also catching a few more natural backgrounds.

But my favorite part was when we headed back to the studio to get some extreme sports shots. Adam plays football for Stanley Boyd, so you can usually find him weight training in the gym to prep for big wins, and it was important that we captured this aspect of his life. It was awesome to see how easily he transitioned from student to athlete in pictures.

Adam pulled off some great action poses and put on his game face—literally—with some face paint. Complete with a helmet and football, Adam looked the part of an extreme sportsman. We were able to create a collage of all the epic images that I think looks like something right out of a sports movie poster. I think it fits right in with the photo collages they do for the Super Bowl! Maybe in a few years, we’ll see Adam out there. Playing for the Packers, of course.

Adam, thanks for an awesome senior photoshoot! I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Vita | Chippewa Falls Senior Session

For Vita’s senior session, we headed to a nearby hidden location near the studio in Chippewa Falls so that we could capture some amazing images.

Going into the session, Vita was convinced that she wasn’t going to enjoy having her picture taken. She claimed that was wasn’t very photogenic, but I disagreed and did my utmost to try to get her to come out of her shell. After 10 minutes, she was absolutely rocking out like a supermodel for Seventeen magazine!

I was particularly proud of the fact that I was able to get her to relax enough to get her in the water, splashing around and grinning. You can’t fake the emotion for moments like that—it has to be genuine—and Vita rocked it!

In fact, Vita enjoyed herself so much that, after the session was over, she left a 5-star review:

“Senior pictures: I’m not the type that enjoys having pictures taken. But today was definitely a great experience! I was a little nervous at first, always feel awkward when other people take pictures of me – but Andrew did an AMAZING job when it came down to pulling me out of my shell. Easy to work with and definitely recommend!” – Vita N.

It always warms my heart to hear from my clients when they have a portrait session they enjoy, and this was particularly sweet because she had been so nervous going in. Thank you, Vita, for sharing your experience!

As Vita gradually relaxed and started to open up, I was also able to learn more about her. This high school senior from Thorp is a total family girl, and she especially enjoys the time she gets to spend with her nephews. Her last outfit with her sweatshirt was her grandfather’s who passed… and she also brought her grandfather’s custom made ring. Such a great touch to add to her session that means something to her. She had so much love in her heart, and it was a true joy to be around her.

Vita, thank you so much for an amazing senior session. I’m so glad that you were able to enjoy yourself, and I know you will do wonderful things in your future.

Liz | Chippewa Falls Senior Session

Before the school year started, I met up with Liz for a senior session at Chippewa Falls, a hidden location nearby that I love but have never used yet to use for these sessions for the variety of backgrounds they have.

Liz is a senior at Stanley Boyd High School and she came prepared for her session. She met up with me with her mom, Lia, as well as a vehicle full of props & clothes for a more personalized session. The suitcase and the globe were the perfect props to show that Liz is really going places—and has the whole world ahead of her as she prepares to transition into adulthood.

Of course, the day wasn’t just about fun props, either. Liz had a whole collection of different outfits, from fun to classy, to showcase all the different aspects of her personality as well as her life. She could go from the classically beautiful look of a black dress and pearls wading in water to the casually comfortable look of jeans and sandals seamlessly, which made her a joy to photograph. I love getting to really work on a whole range of images like this.

Liz was capable of real class and glamour, but the best part was when she would let her goofy side come out. She and her mom had brought a bunch of different hats for some whimsical pictures, though some of my favorites were of Liz in her bright yellow boots wading out into the water. She was up for anything to get some fun pictures, and these images really captured that adventurous spirit.

And did I mention she plays Volleyball? Congrats on a great season!!

And to top it all off… we walked down the street from my studio & grabbed a delicious waffle cone at Olsen’s Ice Cream! And we had a blast because Liz’s personality was shining as she loves ice cream & we were to make it happen!

Thank you, Liz and Lia, for coming out and spending a gorgeous day with me for your senior session. I know you are going places, Liz, and I can’t wait to see you take the world by storm. Thanks also to Jayde, from Touch of Class, who did the hair and makeup for this session. You knocked it out of the park!

Joey | Chippewa Falls Senior Session

Chippewa Falls Senior Session Andrew Samplawski Photography

It’s senior session season again. Every year, I’m excited to see the new crop of young people getting ready to enter adulthood, and every year, I’m impressed with the kids I get to meet. This time around, I met up with Joe for a senior session at a nearby hidden location in Chippewa Falls. I loved getting to know this young man and celebrating this exciting time in his life with him.

Joey is an active senior at Cadott High School. He’s into football and basketball, so I made sure to get pictures of him wearing his jerseys to show off his love of the game. He put on his game face (and game paint) for some epic shots—looking like he was ready to take on a championship game. When taking pictures with high school seniors, I love taking the opportunity to capture their interests and passions.
