I met up with Naomi and Ryan just recently to photograph their engagement session all around downtown Eau Claire.

We had an awesome day exploring downtown Eau Claire together. This engagement session really was a lot of fun while I had a chance to get to know Naomi and Ryan a little better. Eau Claire has so much personality, and we captured many different sides of the city! I love how there’s such a variety of backgrounds to play with here because it gives my couples so many kinds of portraits. We went down by the water and took pictures with the bridge in the background and the wildflowers gave us pops of color in the background. We went to Phoenix Park, where the grass was green and lush. Naomi and Ryan did a few costume changes while we were out on the road, so there is so much awesome variety in these engagement portraits!
We had so much fun in downtown Eau Claire finding different ways to capture Naomi and Ryan’s love. While we were taking pictures together, I loved hearing about how they met and fell in love. Engagement sessions are my favorite way to get to know my couples before their weddings. We went up a little further uptown to Banbury Place, where the landscapes were a little bit more grunge and a little more urban. We had fun leveraging mirrored buildings to create interesting reflections in pictures; we found texture against ivy walls; and overall had a great time. We even came upon a really cool mural painted on the side of a building which gave us a really interesting, artsy backdrop for a few shots.
Naomi and Ryan, it was awesome to spend time with you checking out the arts of downtown Eau Claire. I really enjoyed getting to know you both in advance of your wedding in 2019. I can’t wait to be your wedding photographer!
